Dreaming of cool moorland Autumn air

High above Bradshaw woods, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Pastel on Canson Mi-Teintes 'Touch' 350gsm pastel paper
(unfinished)

What a fab opportunity I was given recently to meet some really enthusiastic artists in Huddersfield who were as passionate about their local landscape as I am also!

Although I live in Leeds I'm not that far away and I try and get deep into the Pennines, as often as I can particularly around Huddersfield in Kirklees as the landscape has a raw beauty all of its own.

The painting was a demonstration painting for the group and a delight to do with fantastic weather outside beaming in. the Summer sun is great, but nothing beats that cool moorland breeze - especially in the Autumn, high in the fells surrounded by all that glorious Autumn colour!
