Crashing waves at North Landing - Flamborough, East Yorkshire Coast
Pastel on Canson Mi-Teites 'touch 350gsm pastel paper
(Unfinished...but not by much!)
It would seem that it is very much flavour of the month for seascapes in Nottinghamshire at the moment which is great as they are amongst one of my favourite subjects to paint!
Having had two successful workshops supported by 'The artist' magazine and Canson papers at 'Patchings Art Festival 15' at Calverton near Nottingham recently in June, it was great to be invited back to Nottinghamshire for a fantastic art group near Retford to give another demonstration for a seascape - purely with pastels this time!
Choosing Canson Mi-Teintes 'Touch' 35gsm pastel paper (colour 354 sky grey) was the perfect colour background for my seascape to support sharp foreground tones and pale background tints at the same time.
Here we are all having fun and enjoying each others company learning a lot...between some great audience participation! Fantastic!
A fab afternoon in Nottingham! I'm looking forward to coming back as soon as I can!
